Our one-of-a-kind boutique ultrasound experience offers families in Fort Worth and the surrounding DFW area a warm and relaxed way to connect with their baby before birth, and you don’t have to be a part of our CFB family to enjoy it! Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re hoping for a sweet bonding moment, a joyful gender reveal, or beautiful 3D and 4D ultrasound images to treasure, we’ve created an inviting space, where families can celebrate this special season together in our beautiful, private First Glimpses suite. This unique experience is so much more than “just” an ultrasound and is something we are confident you and your family will treasure for years to come.
More than an ultrasound
A visit to our boutique ultrasound suite is more than simply watching your baby moving on a screen and announcing the gender. It is a quiet moment to slow down, breathe, and connect with the life you are growing and will soon welcome into your waiting arms. In a warm, peaceful space, families relax together while watching their baby stretch, move, and grow. Our special reveal blessing can be your moment as you choose. In your own home, surrounded by family and friends. Or in our suite with your family - where we created a gender reveal with meaning. You will be given an envelope, wax seal so you can savor the moment. When you open your card, there will be a blessing, with your baby’s gender and a poem written to you with love from us here at the Center for Birth.

Midwives have always recognized that many moments in our lives, especially during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are so much more than just a clinical event. They are sacred moments that deserve to be held and honored. And midwives have always ensured we hold that space for those that want it. That was when our boutique ultrasound experience was born. The knowing that it can and should be so different. We are so proud to have created the first of it’s kind for boutique ultrasounds in our area. We will continue to strive to create more ways for families to make cherished memories of these moments that they will speak about for years.

Can young children and family attend the ultrasound with us?
Yes, and we encourage it! Our boutique ultrasound sessions are designed to be a family-friendly bonding experience for the whole family to enjoy! Partners, siblings, grandparents and loved ones are welcome to join you and share in the special moment of seeing your baby.
When is the best time to get a 3D or 4D Ultrasound?
Most families find that the best time for a 3D or 4D ultrasound is between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy, when babies have developed fuller facial features but still have room to move and be seen clearly.
What if my baby isn’t in a good position?
Sometimes babies prefer to stay curled up or face away, but by enjoying some tea and scones before the sonogram, babies usually wake up and start moving and shaking. If that happens, our amazing sonographer Lea will use her amazing skills to encourage baby to move. She may suggest a short walk or repositioning and the lovely thing is, you have an hour with her to take the time to get that little one to cooperate. If images are still limited, we’ll work with you to find another opportunity to try again.
Is a boutique ultrasound the same as a medical ultrasound?
Boutique ultrasounds are elective keepsake experiences and are not intended to replace diagnostic ultrasounds performed by your midwife or physician. We strongly encourage families to maintain regular prenatal care. Our policy is to adhere to ALARA guidelines for your boutique ultrasound experience. This means that our goal is to keep the length of scans limited to 15 minutes. There may be times that it is longer because of baby’s willingness to cooperate (or not), but that is our consistent intention.
